Bridgeport has asked the two clubs that play cricket in Newfield Park to find another spot to set up their wickets.
Everton Palmer, the president of the Bridgeport Cricket Club, tells the Connecticut Post their ouster follows a dispute in June with a family that had put up a bounce house on the field the clubs have used for years to hold their weekend matches.
Palmer says that shortly after that incident, the clubs were informed they won't be allowed to use the park next season.
City spokeswoman Elaine Ficarra says recent improvements to Newfield Park have led to more people using it, and the city wants to be able to accommodate everybody.
Bridgeport teams are part of a local league that competes against clubs from around Connecticut.
