If you are looking for a new job, the Omni Nashville Hotel has an event this week you won't want to miss.
More than 500 positions are up for grabs during a three-day job fair at the Music City Center.
Representatives for the luxury hotel say construction is ahead of schedule, but an exact opening date has not yet been announced.
Still, more than 1,000 people turned out Thursday hoping to land a job in hospitality, food service, housekeeping and more.
"I'm a people person and I've lived in Nashville all my life. I worked at Opryland when Opryland was here as the beverage director there, so I just love this type of area to work for," said job applicant Karen Mahoney.
Applicants work their way through the interview process and can expect a decision within a couple of weeks.
The Omni has some very strict rules regarding employees' appearance, but they've actually relaxed some of those rules here in Nashville, especially when it comes to tattoos and piercings - as they consider that part of the city's culture.
"We want to get as many proud Nashvillians in our building. This is not about the Omni, it's about the destination and everything Music City has to offer. And we want to have people on our team who understand that," said Omni Nashville General Manager Dan Piotrowski.
The job fair runs through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
Candidates are encouraged to bring copies of their application and resume to the event. You can get started by filling out an application at http://www.omnihotels.com.
