WILTON, CT (WFSB) -

A 12-year-old boy died in Wilton Monday evening after he lost control of his bicycle, went off the roadway and was thrown over a stone wall.

The unidentified child, who lives in Weston, was found lying in the area of 150 Cedar Rd. just before 5 p.m., police said.

The child was taken the Norwalk Hospital with head and face injuries where he died a short time later.

During their investigation, police determined that the boy was riding his bicycle on Cedar Road with two other boys, who were similar in age. He lost control of his bicycle when he hit the mouth of a driveway.

The boy landed on the other side of a stone wall fence that was near the road, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wilton Police Department. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 203-834-6260.
