FAIRFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

The Fairfield Police Department is investigating a home break-in by a barefoot, "tall, heavy-set" man early Saturday morning in the Southport section of the town.

Police released surveillance video that shows a man breaking into a home on July 27 around 2:30 a.m.

The man is accused of stealing money and jewelry from the residence while people were sleeping inside.

During the burglary, the suspect, who had a beard and mustache, was seen wearing sweatpants, a long-sleeve sweatshirt, and "some sort of hat, or stocking on his head."

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at 203-254-4840 or send a text to 274637 with the letters "FPD." All calls and texts are anonymous.
