Michael Madison in court
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
The alleged East Cleveland serial killer appeared in court on Tuesday morning for a pretrial hearing.
Michael Madison, 35, is accused of killing Shetisha Sheeley, Angela H. Deskins and Shirellda Terry.
Prosecutors said their Capital Review Committee will meet on September 18 to discuss seeking the death penalty against Madison. Prosecutors also said that they are making arrangements for the defense team to tour the crime scenes.
Police found the first of the victims on July 19 after answering a complaint about odors coming from an East Cleveland garage. Two more bodies were discovered the following day. All three were wrapped in plastic bags.
Madison, a convicted sex offender, was arrested July 19 at his mother's home after a two-hour standoff with police.
According to Madison's lawyer, his client is cooperating with preparation for his defense.
Madison remains jailed on a $6M bond. He's due back in court on August 20.
