With 23 days until the season opener against the TCU Horned Frogs, the Tigers once again took to the field in the Louisiana heat.

Here's a few Quick Hits from this morning's practice:

If John Chavis doesn't wake you up in the morning, perhaps you need to check your pulse. LSU's fiery defensive coordinator could be heard quite clearly from at least 100 yards away, barking at defensive lineman and questioning some of their effort.

Some LSU players were amused to see former Tigers' offensive lineman T-Bob Hebert at practice, now working as a radio personality for ESPN 104.5 FM. "He's a sports reporter now?" one of the LSU players asked out loud.

LSU sophomore linebacker Kwon Alexander is moving very well and looks great after his season-ending ankle injury last year against Florida. Alexander quickly maneuvered his way through the mats laid on the ground, before launching himself into the practice dummy/pad. "Nice job Kwon!" the coaching staff exclaimed.

New LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was teaching the "Five Route" and "Six Route" to his quarterbacks and wide receivers while the media was allowed to attend. Cameron continues to communicate and teach the new number combinations and language that the offense will use this season. As players said during the spring, the offense is being torn down and built up again from the bottom up.

Head coach Les Miles, as usual, spent most of his time standing by and instructed the offensive line. This has been the case for over eight years now.

And we also watched wide receivers coach Adam Henry continue to work with his group. Henry is beginning his second year with the Tigers and was a star wide receiver at McNeese State from 1990-93.
