The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office arrested Ricardo Ramirez Cupis of Guadalupe for the death of a small dog.

A witness claims to have seen Mr. Ramirez carrying a small cardboard box around on Saturday, August 3rd. The box had fallen to the street and a small dog had escaped. The suspect captured the dog and returned it to the box. He then tied and bound the box shut and continued walking.

On the morning of Friday, August 9th, 2013 a neighbor, while putting his garbage cans out, noticed the cardboard box against his block fence with a foul odor coming from it. The box was still bound and the dog's small nose was poking out of the bottom.

The suspect, Mr. Ramirez, was interviewed and stated that the dog was very sick and he did not want it to die at his house.

Animal Crimes Unit removed the dead animal and booked Mr. Ramirez on 1 count of Felony Animal Cruelty.
