A Sumner County swift-water rescue team was called to come to the aid of a man who drove off a state highway and into a rushing creek Monday.
The man's truck left Highway 31 East and ended up in Bledsoe Creek inthe Bransford Community south of Westmoreland, where rescuers reached the man using a floating gurney in the cold water.
The driver has a postal worker to thank for seeing the wreck's aftermath. The mailman was driving nearby when he saw the man in the water and called emergency responders.
The man's identity has not been released, and the cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
