911 calls released from East Haven plane crash

EAST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

Eyewitness News received the 911 calls from the moments after a plane crashed into two homes in East Haven on Friday.

People in the neighborhood saw that the plane was having trouble and one man said it was vertical and heading right for the ground. The calls show how intense the scene was right after the plane went down.

On one of the calls, listeners can hear JoAnn Mitchell screaming for her two children, who did not make it out of the home.

Federal investigators told Eyewitness News that they are using the calls to see if there is anything someone said that may help them to figure out what caused the crash.

The uncle of the two children who did not make it out of the house told Eyewitness News that one of the hardest parts of that day was the children's mother realizing what happened.

"The only thing she kept saying was 'I'm not going to leave until we find my girls. You have to find my girls,'" said the uncle.

The investigators are expecting to have a preliminary report within the next week.
