Homecoming queen sentenced for party out of control

Posted: Updated:

A high school homecoming queen in Sumner County will serve a year on probation after a graduation party that drew the police.

Sarah Lamb pleaded guilty Monday to underage consumption of alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

The judge also found her guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lamb, 18, graduated from Hendersonville High School in May, where she was named homecoming queen. Police went to her house in June on reports of underage drinking at a graduation party.

Lamb's mother, Laleh, was not home at the time.

Police charged the mother with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child neglect, for leaving her 9-year-old child at the house.

Those charges were dismissed Monday.

Police also arrested or cited 32 other adults and minors who were at the party, and many of those charges have since been dismissed.

Others will have to pay fines and complete underage alcohol classes and community service.
