Ex-Vernon employee accused of hacking town network

A former systems analyst for the town of Vernon has been arrested on charges that she remotely monitored her supervisor's computer.

Forty-three-year-old Jisung Woo is also accused of improperly attempting to remotely access the town's computer network from home.

The Journal Inquirer reports that Woo was arrested July 29 and charged with second-degree computer crime. She was released on $500 bond and is due in Vernon Superior Court on Sept. 4.

Woo told police she felt her supervisors subjected her to racial discrimination and she had been preparing a letter of complaint to the state Labor Department.

After she was put on administrative leave amid poor performance evaluations, she said she tried to access the town's server to retrieve the letter. She told police she did not intend harm.
