Man dies after crash on Route 189 in Granby

GRANBY, CT (WFSB) -

A Massachusetts man died after a two-car crash on Route 189 in Granby on Monday night.

The crash, which involved a motorcycle and a car, was reported on Granville Road, which is also known as Route 189, near the intersection of Northwoods Drive just before 6 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle, who was identified as 47-year-old Clint Eaton of Pittsfield, M. A., was taken by Life Star medical helicopter to Hartford Hospital.

Eaton, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital Tuesday, officials said.

The driver of the other motor vehicle was identified as 21-year-old Julianna Best of Granby. She was not seriously injured, police said.

Route 189 was closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Granby Police Department and the North Central Accident Reconstruction Team.

No charges have been filed at this time.
