GLASTONBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Crews continue to repair a gas main in Glastonbury after a leak was reported late Tuesday morning.

Even though Main Street is closed near Hillcrest Road, officials with Connecticut Natural Gas said no homes or business have been affected.

The leak was reported just before noon after a construction crew hit a 6-inch gas main, CNG officials said.

No evacuations have been ordered at this time and residents in the area still have working gas in their homes, according to officials.

The leak has been secured and the main was shut off, CNG officials said.

The Glastonbury Fire Department closed off Main Street until the repairs are completed. The closure could last about two hours.

One lane of traffic opened around 5:30 p.m.

There was a smell of gas in the air.
