HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

An overnight crash in Hartford sent water everywhere after a car struck a fire hydrant.

Crews were called out to the area 115 Barker Street around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday to find water rushing down the street.

Officials said a car struck a fire hydrant, severing it and sending water spilling onto the roadway.

Crews were able to get the water turned off a short time later, but not before it left a mess of water and dirt over the roadway.

Repair crews from the Metropolitan District Commission were responding to cover the hole left after the hydrant was taken off.

There is no word if anyone was injured in the crash.
