A sergeant for the Department of Public Safety has been fired for allegedly mismanaging her mother-in-law's money.
The Payson Police Department has been investigating the case for the past two years, and believes her husband, a retired DPS officer, was also involved.
According to the Payson police report, Sgt. Terry Lincoln, and her husband, Casey Lincoln took advantage of Casey Lincoln's mother's estate in 2011.
The person who contacted police said Casey Lincoln's mother had health issues and was vulnerable. The police report stated that she had some moderate dementia issues and was on medications.
According to the police report, Casey Lincoln went to his mother's nursing home and had her sign over power of attorney of her partner's finances to her. Casey Lincoln also was able to transfer a vehicle title from his mom's name to his own name, police said.
According to the police report, Casey Lincoln came to the police department on June 9, 2011. Asked if the investigation was in regards to his mother's estate he told police he believed everything had been done in a legal manner.
No criminal charges had been issued at this time.
