Government budget cuts prevented Western Mass from hosting an air show this year, but plane enthusiasts and car buffs still have somewhere to go this weekend.
The Westover Metropolitan Airport is the site of the inaugural Great New England Wings and Wheels event.
Saturday featured more than two dozen vintage civilian and military aircraft, and hundreds of classic cars.
Organizers told CBS 3 they want the event to appeal to a wide range of people.
The event continues on Sunday, with gates opening at 9 a.m.
Admission is $10 per person, while children 12 and under are free.
Proceeds are going towards the Pioneer Valley USO and the Springfield Shriners Hospital for Children.
CBS 3 Springfield is a proud sponsor of the Great New England Wings and Wheels event.
