A Kennesaw pastor has bonded out jail after authorities arrested him on charges of child molestation and sexual battery against a child.

Rev. John Pinkston is founder and pastor of Congregation of God Seventh Day on South Main Street in Kennesaw.

Pinkston is accused of molesting a 6-year-old child, while at the church, between the dates of July 17, 2013 and August 22, 2013. The child notified her parents and the parents contacted police.

Cobb County Sheriff's office took Pinkston into custody at the Kennesaw City Jail Wednesday just before noon, according to Cobb County jail records.

Pinkston had a bond of $35,000. He posted bond and was released by 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The Kennesaw Police Department is asking that if anyone has any further information involving Pinkston to please call 770-422-2505 and speak with a detective.
