BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

Three people were arrested in connection with the armed robbery of 16-year-old man in Bristol late Saturday night.

A person driving on Memorial Boulevard spotted a robbery and reported it to police around 11:10 p.m.

A short time later, police arrested three suspects, 19-year-old Shayne Shakes of Hartford, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old.  Police said the three suspects took a wallet, cell phone and backpack from the 16-year-old male.

Shakes "brandished a weapon" during the robbery, police said.

However, the 16-year-old man was not seriously injured during the robbery, police said.

Shakes was charged with first-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, possession of a dangerous weapon, second-degree breach of peace, first degree conspiracy to commit robbery and fifth- degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Shakes is being held on a $50,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned at Bristol Superior Court on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old and 14-year-old were also charged and were transfered to juvenile court.

The names of the teenagers were not released because of their age.
