The Hamden Police Department is investigating vandalism at a Jewish cemetery on Monday.

Police said they were called to the Congregation Beth el Keser Memorial Park Cemetery on Warner Street and when they arrived they saw that at least 30 gravestones were knocked over.

The damage to the stones was estimated around $5,000, and special machinery will be needed to make the repairs.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call police.
