Ledyard man accused of having illegal reptile

LEDYARD, CT (WFSB) -

Ledyard police arrested a man after they said he was found to be in possession of an illegal reptile.

Anthony String, 36, of Spicer Hill Road was charged with possession of an illegal reptile on Wednesday and was ordered to appear in court on Sept. 25.

Police said the charges stem from a months-long search for a reptile undertaken by the Ledyard Animal Control and Ledyard police because of to sightings of a Nile Monitor Lizard located on Aug. 25.
