Amtrak service between New Haven and Providence has been restored after crews worked to clear a tree and other debris brought down by severe weather.
The suspension of service on the Northeast Corridor was announced Friday morning.
The debris fell onto the railroad's overhead wire system near Cranston, R.I., following storms that moved into the area Thursday night.
Passengers who have bought tickets but decide not to travel because of the service suspension were eligible for a refund.
