Man arrested after shots fired near New Haven High School

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police have arrested a man after reports of shots fired near a New Haven high school early Sunday morning.

Officials responded to the area of College Street betweenCrown and George Street around 2 a.m. Sunday morning after reports of gunfire near the Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School. Responding officers said they saw the gunman running through a nearby parking lot.

After a short chase, officials arrested suspect Tyrese Dingle, 24, of New Haven, while other officers were able to locate a handgun.

According to officials, there were no reported injuries or victims related to this incident.
