Police in Hamden are searching for the people responsible for a burglary that occurred while the residents were sleeping.
According to police, a homeowner noticed a "flashlight emanating through a side window" of a home on Paradise Avenue around 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
The homeowner told police that he then saw someone run through his backyard.
The man called police and when officers arrived, they discovered "a patio chair, underneath an open rear window, on a neighboring residence."
The homeowner told police that money was taken from his home, but it is unclear how much was taken.
Following the burglary, police are warning residents to lock their doors and windows before going to bed. Residents are also advised to make sure their home is "well-illuminated" and items are away from their windows.
No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with any information is asked to Hamden Police Department at 203-230-4040.
