HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A Hartford woman is due in court Friday on several assault charges after police said she admitted to them that she severely burned her boyfriend.

Earlier this month, Julia Rivera called police to her home on South Street saying she burned her boyfriend to death.

When officers arrived at the home, police said she told them, "Arrest me. I did it. I burned him alive."

Officers arrested Rivera and later found the victim down the street with second-degree burns over 70 percent of his body.
