The Horizon Science Academy - Springfield closed early Monday afternoon due to a power failure that shut down school computers and the phone system.

The school is asking parents to pick up students at the school as soon as possible.

There is no danger to staff or students.

The power outage was caused by a single-vehicle accident on Reynolds Road near Hill. At approximately 2:30 p.m., a van struck a utility pole, causing power failure for those in the area, including the school. There were no injuries reported.

Toledo Edison is currently working on restoring power to residents.
