BLOOMFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Bloomfield are searching for a suspect who broke into a Dunkin' Donuts through a rooftop vent and stole money from two cash registers.

An employee entered the store, located at 903 Blue Hills Ave., around 4:45 a.m. and found two cash registers "had been forced open," police said. An undetermined amount of money was taken from the registers, police said.

According to an investigation by police, a masked suspect broke into the store around 12:40 a.m. and tried to open the safe. However, suspect was unable to get into the safe, police said.

The suspect fled the store through the same vent, police said.

During the burglary, no alarms sounded.
