Fostoria teens admit guilt in Bowling Green assault

WOOD COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Three Fostoria High School students spent Monday in a courtroom rather than a classroom.

Two of the teens, ages 16 and 17, admitted to felonious assault charges from an early morning incident in Bowling Green on September 8.

The third teen, 16, will have his case continues on September 30.

According to Bowling Green police, a vehicle filled with five Fostoria High students pulled up next to two men in their late 20s walking to an apartment on Sixth Street. The teens allegedly hopped out and started beating the men, punching them and kicking them on the ground.

Three of the teens, two of them football players at Fostoria High School, were later arrested before leaving the city.

Police say the beating was a "random act of violence."

According to officials with the Wood County Juvenile Court, a judge will hand down a punishment to the two who admitted guilt in the coming weeks, beginning on October 7.
