SEDONA, AZ (CBS5) -

A 53-year-old Sedona man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sex crimes.

Kirk Harris, 53, also received lifetime probation and must register as a sex offender.

Harris pleaded guilty to attempted sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor - considered dangerous crimes against children in the second degree. He also pleaded guilty to furnishing harmful items to a minor.

The victim reached out to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office in February 2012 and reported ongoing sex abuse that happened while the victim was a minor.

The crimes occurred in the Phoenix and Camp Verde areas. That led to an investigation by a detective from YCSO's Criminal Investigations Bureau.

Harris was arrested at his Sedona home on Feb. 22, 2012.
