SALEM, Mass. (AP) - A man suspected of slashing a female student on a Salem State College shuttle bus then stabbing the driver when he came to her aid has been captured in New York.
Timothy Wells of Woburn was apprehended at about 10 p.m. Wednesday when his car broke down on a highway in Chatham, N.Y., close to the Massachusetts border. He is expected to face a New York judge on Thursday.
A Salem State spokeswoman says the attack happened at about 11:10 a.m. Wednesday. The woman suffered a laceration to her arm and the driver received a minor puncture wound to the chest.
Neither injury was considered life-threatening.
The school described the 25-year-old Wells as a Salem State senior currently on leave. It was not clear if he had a lawyer.
