Early morning fire damages Windsor Locks home

An early morning fire at a home in Windsor Locks left the second floor heavily damaged and forced the homeowner out.

The fire broke out at the home on Southwest Avenue around 12:30 a.m., fire officials said.

One person was in the home at the time of the fire, but they were able to get out safely.

Officials said the fire caused heavy damage to the second floor of the home. The first floor also suffered smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time by the Windsor Locks Fire Marshal's Office.
