LUDLOW, MA (WSHM) -

The Ludlow Police Department is requesting the public's help as they investigate an attempted abduction of two young females.

Ludlow police say a parent walked into the police station Monday, Sept. 23 and provided a full report of two young females between 12 and 14 years old who were nearly abducted.

Police said the two girls were walking together around 6:25 p.m. on Center Street between Rood and Church Street.

Police said the girls told the parent that they spotted a black van with tented windows driving toward their direction on Center Street. One of the girls told the parent the van then circled back around and asked one of the girls to get in the van.

Police said when the girl said no, the suspect offered her candy. According to police, when the girl refused again, the man said, "Whatever" and drove away on Center Street headed southbound.

The Ludlow Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this case to call them at 413-583-8305.
