Man, woman charged in AC Eatery armed robbery

TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Two people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the diner in Torrington earlier this week.

A woman with a red bandanna covering her face entered the AC Eatery at 601 South Main St. around 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 22.

The woman, who police said was 32-year-old Amber LeBlanc, "pointed a dark colored, semiautomatic handgun at employees" and demanded money from the diner employees.

LeBlanc left the AC Eatery with undetermined amount of money and got into a pickup truck near the intersection of Palmer Bridge Street and Park Avenue.

No one was injured during the robbery and no shots were fired, police said.

LeBlanc was arrested at the Days Inn in Torrington early Friday morning. Officers found LeBlanc with crack cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Craig Donaghy, 54, is accused of driving the pickup truck involved in the armed robbery. Donaghy was arrested on Friday and charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery.

LeBlanc was charged with first-degree robbery, possession crack-cocaine, possession heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession narcotic substance in a school zone.

LeBlanc was held on a $500,000 bond and arraigned in Bantam Superior Court on Friday.

Donaghy is being held on a $500,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned at Bantam Superior Court on Monday.
