MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police have released surveillance pictures of a suspect, who they believe robbed pharmacies in Meriden and South Windsor.

A man robbed the CVS, which is located at 525 Buckland St. in South Windsor, on Sept. 25. Police said the suspect had a handgun and took "an unknown quantity of pills."

On Thursday, an unidentified man walked into the Walgreens, which is located at 825 E. Main St., around 3 p.m.

The man demanded OxyContin from the clerk and police said "lifted his shirt revealing a handgun in his waistband."

The man was able to flee the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of OxyContin, police said.

Investigators believe the two robberies were committed by the same suspect, who they believe "had a Massachusetts accent/manner of speech."

"It appears to be the same suspect; the two robberies are quite similar," said South Windsor police Sgt. Scott Custer in a release Friday.

Police said no one was injured during either incident.

Anyone with any information about the robbery is asked to call the South Windsor Police Department at 860-644-2551 or the Meriden Police Department at 203-630-6345.
