What started as a domestic dispute turned into an armed standoff in Hinesville. Around 3:30 pm Saturday, the Sheriff's Office was called in Liberty County.
Reports of a man walking around his front yard with a gun in his hand caused officers from the Hinesville Police Department and Georgia State Patrol to also respond. Detectives believe the suspect was upset about an argument with his girlfriend from earlier in the day.
The man got on his roof once police arrived, leaving two hostages inside his house. After controlled the suspect was taken to the hospital and was expected to be released to the jail shortly after.
Investigators report he was wearing body armor and suffered minor wounds to his arm. Both hostages escaped safely.
