StoryCorps returns to Nashville to record immigrants' stories

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A popular nationwide oral history project is coming back to Nashville, and it wants to hear your story.

StoryCorps has selected the Nashville Public Library for a new program to record America's history as it happens.

The program, titled "Nashville's New Faces," will launch Oct. 19 and focus on the stories of local immigrants.

Participants will sit down with a loved one for an hour-long session and record an interview. Afterwards, you'll get a copy of the storytelling and so will the Library of Congress.

If you want to share your history, make an appointment with the library by contacting Special Collections Manager Andrea Blackman at andrea.blackman@nashville.gov or 615-862-5842.

Nashville is one of 10 cities nationwide selected for the StoryCorps program.
