Man accused of stealing safe with thousands of dollars in it

WOLCOTT, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Wolcott are trying to locate a 23-year-old man, who is accused of stealing a safe with thousands of dollars and collectable coins.

Investigators are trying to find Daniel Deleo, who police said took a safe, which had about $30,000 and rare coins in it, from the Goldberg Karate Studio on Wolcott Road.

Deleo is believed to traveling with his wife, 24-year-old Cynthia Deleo. Their 2004 Chevrolet Impala was found abandoned in Newington without its license plates.

The Deleos have ties to Newington and Terryville, police said. They also have relatives in Ohio and Maryland.

If arrested, Daniel Deleo is facing larceny and burglary charges.
