Newtown residents are expected to run in the 2013 ING Hartford Marathon to raise money to build a performing arts center in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
Runners from Newtown will be participating in the marathon on Saturday in support of the 12.14 Foundation.
The 12.14 Foundation is raising funds to help build a performing arts center, which will be constructed in memory of the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
On Dec. 14, 20 first-graders and six adults were shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
As of Wednesday, the team of 26 runners has raised $7,500, but hopes to raise $10,000 before the start of the marathon.
