LIFE STAR medical helicopter lands at Stanley Access Technologies in Farmington.
FARMINGTON, CT (WFSB) -
Six people were seriously injured with two people in critical condition after a crash was reported along Route 6 in Farmington on Monday afternoon.
Officials said the crash was reported after 12:30 p.m., and as a result Route 6 was closed from New Britain Avenue to Scott Swamp Road.
Two adults are in critical condition, while a third adult suffered serious injuries, police said. Three children were involved in the crash and an 8-year-old was taken via a LIFE STAR medical helicopter to an area hospital.
"The two cars were smashed up," said witness Holly Storm. "There was a helicopter that just landed. They put a little boy in it."
Police told Eyewitness News a mother and her three children were in the minivan and two others in a car.
"The scene was pretty chaotic," Storm said.
Route 6 was closed until just before 5 p.m. when the roadway fully reopened, police said.
Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the cause of the crash.
