TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Connecticut Light & Power officials are unsure what caused thousands of customers in Torrington to lose power, however the service was restored by Thursday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., around 23 percent of the city or about 4,200 CL&P customers were without power.

CL&P officials learned about the incident and had power restored around 3:30 p.m.

It is unclear what caused the outage, however CL&P officials said it could be linked to the substation in the area.
