South Windsor man arrested after drugs found in motor vehicle

MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) -

Drugs were seized during a routine motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 in Meriden Thursday morning.

A vehicle was stopped by an officer for the Department of Motor Vehicles near Exit 18 around 7:30 a.m.

Inside the vehicle, eight ounces of marijuana packaged in various containers and two small bottles containing liquid cannabis were seized by police.

Investigators also seized drug paraphernalia including a narcotics scale, bags and twist ties as well as other items. Police also seized $550.

The driver, who was identified as 22-year-old Kyle Mount, of South Windsor, was arrested and faces various drug charges.

Mount was released on a $2,500 bond and is expected to be arraigned at Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 31.
