Torrington police search for home invasion suspects

TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Torrington are searching for two men they say broke into a Litchfield Street residence and robbed a man.

According to police, officers learned 21-year-old resident had been assaulted and robbed inside his home. The victim told police that shortly before 6 p.m. he answered the door and was confronted by two men who forced their way inside.

The victim told police he was pistol whipped and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. police said the victim was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and was treated for injuries.

Police are attempting to locate two suspects. The first man is described as a dark-skinned Hispanic man in his mid-twenties. He is described as about 5 foot 6 inches tall and about 230 pounds. The second suspect is described as medium-skinned, possibly Hispanic male. Police said the second suspect is about 5 foot 8 inches tall.

Both suspects fled in a red 2007 Nissan Quest with CT marker plates, 719ZDA, registered to a Torrington resident.
