A box truck got stuck twice this week at the same location in Meriden and residents told Eyewitness News this type of crash happens often.
On Monday, a truck collided with a low overpass on Gypsty Lane around 2:30 p.m. The top of the truck was severely damaged.
The overpass is a train bridge for Amtrak.
On Tuesday, a Servpro truck hit the same overpass. The top of truck was peeled back from the crash.
No injuries were reported in either crash.
The bridge sustained a few minor scrapes.
The is no word on if there was any disruption to Amtrak service during either crash.
"Immediately we knew, because it happens all the time," eyewitness Lisa Byrd said.
Over the past three years, police said there have been six crashes involving that intersection with three in 2011 and three in 2013. All the crashes involved trucks hitting the bridge overpass, police said.
Clearance for the bridge is just over 9 feet. People who live in the area told Eyewitness News they've seen this happen before.
"Oh I would say at least 15 to 20 times," said one Meriden resident. "A lot of trucks hit it."
