NEW ONDON, CT (AP) -

The owner of a New London apartment complex where a man fell to his death on a collapsed porch stairway is being sued for a stair collapse that is blamed for injuries two years ago.

The Day of New London reports that Raynaldo Elder of New London says in a lawsuit he was descending stairs at the rear of a building in the complex in September 2011 when a stair tread broke and he fell.

The complex is owned by Ansonia Acquisition I LLC, which is the subject of the lawsuit that was filed on Sept. 6.

A message was left with Ansonia Acquisitions early Thursday morning.

Jonathan Deptulski of Uncasville, died Monday after falling about 15 feet when outside stairs collapsed between the second and third floor rear porches.
