Purse snatching thwarted

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -

A female victim in Bristol was able to thwart a purse-snatching in the early morning hours Sunday.

According to police, the victim was approached by a lone male suspect as she walked to her car near 369 Main Street. The suspect grabbed the purse and tried to take it from the victim, however the woman was able to fend off the suspect and retain her property.

Police said the suspect then fled on foot. The victim suffered minor injuries during the ordeal.

Police said the suspect is described as a white male, possibly of Hispanic descent and about 6 feet tall. The suspect is also described as being stocky and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
