Expect mostly sunny skies Upstate today, with a few passing clouds in Western NC. A light breeze keeps us feeling comfortable as highs reach the low 70s for the Upstate and mid 60s in the mountains. Overnight, partly cloudy skies keep temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s, with calm wind.
Wednesday we're looking at partly to mostly cloudy skies, with highs reaching the upper 60s to middle 70s. Winds will shift from the southwest, pulling the warm air into our area. With the added cloud cover, overnight lows will also be milder, bottoming out into the 50s for everyone.
Halloween is looking decent so far, though there is a chance for some passing showers in Western NC. Right now, expect mostly cloudy skies all day, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. In the afternoon and evening, a few showers could pop up in Western NC, though Upstate should hold off on any rain until closer to midnight. We're not looking at any trick-or-treaters getting completely washed out, so just bring an umbrella in NC towns for the "in case" situation.
Early Friday, we all see more of a chance for scattered showers, and even a thunderstorm as a cold front pushes into the area. Highs will reach back into the mid-60s to low 70s. Scattered rain continues all day, though most of the rain should be clearing out around dinnertime, leaving us with a much cooler night in the low to mid 40s.
Clear skies stick around all weekend long, with temperatures in the 50s and low 60s. During the night, expect another wintry blast of cold air in the 30s area-wide.
