Most people think the number 666 is unlucky, but that wasn't the case for more than 1,500 people who played the number for Monday night's lottery drawing.
CT Lottery officials said 1,520 lucky ticket holders should be all smiles when they present the ticket for some cold, hard cash.
Lottery officials said that because payouts in the Play3 Night game are based upon the amount wagered, players who had 666 on their Play3 Night tickets on Monday can expect to win $25 up to $2,500 per wager in prize money.
"Since the Play3 Night game began, 6-6-6 has been drawn a total of nine times in the nightly drawing with the last combination being picked on March 22, 1995," Anne M. Noble, president and CEO of the CT Lottery said in a statement. "It's always fun and exciting when a triple single digit is drawn because so many people are particularly fond of playing these numbers."
Winners have 180 days to collect their winnings.
