Route 67 in Southbury was expected to reopen Thursday evening after a fatal motor vehicle crash.
A crash involving a car and truck was reported on Route 67 between Burma Road and Route 188 around 3 p.m., police said.
A pickup truck was traveling northbound on Route 67 when a woman in a car, which was traveling southbound, crossed in front of the truck, police said.
The unidentified woman died at the scene, police said.
The truck driver, whose name was not released, was taken to Waterbury Hospital with no life-threatening injuries, police said.
Route 67 was closed for a few hours while debris was cleared from the roadway.
State police are investigating the crash.
