Friday Night Football Q&Adrian with Keith Benjamin from Windsor High School

Windsor Warriors are now 5-2 heading into week 8 of their season. The Warriors escaped a 30-28 victory over Bristol Eastern last week and are now getting ready to host Maloney Friday November, 1st at 7:00 PM. We managed to catch up with UConn bound, senior Defensive Tackle, Keith Benjamin while he shared his thoughts on the season and the upcoming play-offs.

How do you think your season is going so far heading into the week 8?

Keith Benjamin: The season is going good but I think we can honestly do a lot better. We're not playing to the potential that we have yet, but were going to make it.

Do you and your team have any goals that have been set for this season?

KB: Just to finish off strong and make it to the championship.

What has been your biggest challenge so far for your senior year?

KB: Honestly, being patient and finishing of plays to the whistle.

Do you have any games you're looking forward too?

KB: Middletown, I have history with Middletown from last year because last year I didn't play well, so this year I want to come out strong.

Are you excited for the playoffs?

KB: I'm very excited, we have to finish these last few games strong and make it to the last day.

How are you getting ready for the next level playing for UConn next year?

KB: Just trying to work hard this season and trying to stay focus.

Are you excited to be staying in state playing college football?

KB: I'm very excited to be staying close to home and playing college football. Whenever that time comes around I will be ready to play.

What are your thoughts on the NFL monitoring certain tackles, do you think the sport is getting soft?

KB: I think the sport is getting very soft but they are doing it to keep us safe and if they want to monitor certain tackles. I don't think it will change trying to get the big hit that much. You just have to get it right.

Who's your favorite NFL player and why?

KB: Dwight Freeney, because I like the way he plays and he's a monster.

Would you compare your game to Freeney?

KB: No not yet, but I'm getting there though.

Who's your favorite NFL team?

KB: Indianapolis Colts, I'm a big fan of Peyton Manning and Dwight Freeney so I started liking them, they do what they got to do.

Do you have any favorite restaurants in CT?

KB: I like Giovanni's in the center of town in Windsor.

What do you like doing off the field?

KB: After football I do wrestling, hopefully I be able to win states this year and when I'm not doing anything I enjoy relaxing at home, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.

What is your favorite type of music?

KB: I mostly listen to everything but country isn't my first choice.

If you had to pick, what would be your last meal on Earth?

KB: Meat lover's pizza
