Springfield levy supporters push for votes

Voters in the Springfield Local school district will be asked Tuesday to approve a new, 2.9 nine mill operating levy.

On Saturday, levy supporters campaigned on street corners and neighborhoods to drum up support.

If passed, money would go towards staff salaries and academic programs as well as technology for students to take on-line testing.

"Due to unfunded mandates and lower valuation of houses, we are losing a lot of revenue for our schools. So we're asking our community to support our kids," said District Superintendent, Kathryn Hott.
