Firefighters respond to two fires at same Monroe home

MONROE, CT (WFSB) -

Monroe firefighter were called to a home on Harmony Street for a second time early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters first responded to the home around 11 p.m. Monday after the rear deck of the home was found on fire. Crews were able to quickly knock down the flames before they caused extensive damage to the home.

Crews were called back a second time around 2:15 a.m. for a garage near the home that had caught fire. There is no word on the extent of damage, but crews were still on scene as of 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Monroe police said the fires to appear to be suspicious in nature, and the State Fire Marshal has been called into assist with the investigation.

There were no reported injuries as a result of either fire.
